“For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Dear Blogging Friends,
I’ll be away from 05/28 until 06/05, so I won't be writing new posts during that time, and probably won't have much time to check your posts. (Sorry!) I'll make up for it when I return. While I'll try to respond to any comments, I'm on vacation, so I should treat it as such. Who goes to Dublin and Paris, and remembers all the blogging they accomplished?
And I’m trying not to think of all the bad things that could happen to do with missing luggage, sickness, ash from volcanoes, and plane safety. When anything good comes my way, I fear it’s fleeting and make myself a ball of anxiety.
What will I do when I actually get an agent? And a book contract? I have to let good things come my way without apologizing for them. Sorry I’m not worthy.
I’m not the only one who has a problem with the idea of success without strings:

When I return from the trip, I hope to hear good things happening for you on the teaching, writing, and life fronts. If you have news or just miss me, email me at tmilstein at gmail dot com. Or read one of my old posts. Some of the earlier ones have little or no comments, so they’re lonely.
I’m nearing 200 followers, so I plan to have a BIG contest when I get back. It will involve autographed books, a gift card, and something to do with rejections. Stay tuned.
Have a great week, blogging buddies!
Love,
Theresa

ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comments, everyone! I'm leaving in 20 minutes. Bye!
ReplyDeleteYou may already be gone but enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish they had a Whole Foods in my town...
I am seething with jealousy right now. I would die to go to Ireland! I've been to Paris, but wasn't real impressed with it. But I don't think I got to experience it well, and was only there for a few days, so I'd love to go back and do it up right. Did I mention I'd die to go to Ireland? I've never had Irish butter, but I'd love to try it! You should take a video camera or a voice recorder and get lots of video and vocals of the locals speaking so we can all hear it and pretend we were there with you! Have a great time and be safe!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a super fun trip and that none of your worries come to pass! Enjoy!
ReplyDelete*hugs* I hope you will have a safe and absolutely brilliant trip! Do remember to take pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteHAVE FUN ON MY SIDE OF THE OCEAN!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Dublin and Kerry Gold Butter (we have it here in London too) and Paris (I recognise those stripy columns - Buren's Columns!).
Can't wait to see your photos when you return. Happy travels. Shame you're not in London or we could meet up!
Now I'm at Logan Airport.
ReplyDelete@ Talli, I'd be going to London if the wedding were in London. It's in Dublin! When we looked into flights and places we wanted to go, Paris wound up working the best. Maybe next time!
Have an amazing time. I'm here on the other side of the ocean too. I've always wanted to go to Dublin. So jealous.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Paris.
Thanks for following my blog too. :)
Thanks for popping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time OS. I haven't been to Ireland, but I enjoyed France!

Hah, you sound like me! I find I usually forget the worrying and the irritating things about traveling once I'm home, though, the good things win out in pictures and the irritating things (hopefully) make for good stories! Have an awesome time!
ReplyDeleteThat's great. Have a safe and enjoyable trip. And forget you have a blog until you get back..:)
ReplyDeleteReally like the photo and your destinations sound full of exciting discoveries!
ReplyDeleteYou are hereby BANNED from blogging until you return. Enjoy your trip!

ReplyDeleteOh, also, you just won an award on my blog!
ReplyDeletewow that sounds like such an ammmmmmaaaaaaazzzzzziiiinnnngggggg adventure!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun and take lots of pictures!!!
Hope you're having a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great time! And I agree about not apologizing for the good things that come your way. Sometimes, good things happen because that's the way things are supposed to happen. Good luck, and have fun!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a great trip. I can't wait to hear all about it. Pictures!
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm back... I'll look out for you, your family, and your new luggage as I go to work. ; j
Have fun!
PS Brittany butter is even better. The reason why European butter is usually better is because there's a LOT less water in it. Try holding up a US stick against a EU stick. The US stick is visibly paler. (Who me? Would I carry several sticks of french butter in check in luggage as a peace offering for my in laws? :::whistles innocently::) The downside is that if you're baking you'll have to reassess all of your recipes or else they'll just taste like butter.
Really like the photo and your destinations sound full of exciting discoveries!
