Another Article

I have an article published on BlogHer.

You may have seen it previously as a post here or it may be new to you. Please visit!

Did you have a good weekend? Do anything fun?

My friends who are participating in NaNoWriMo, how's your writing going?

My teaching friends, looking forward to Thanksgiving weekend as much as me?

This weekend I went with my husband, children, and sister to visit my dad and his girlfriend in Maine. It was typical New England weather - bitter with a threat of rain. But it was nice to get out of the city and be with family.

P.S. Don't miss THIS Fabulous Giveaway at Emy Shin's Blog!

  1. Thanksgiving can't get here too soon for me. I am just exhausted this year for some reason. I need a break, even a short one. :-)

    Congrats on your article!! :-)

  2. I'm so ready for Thanksgiving and I'm not even a teacher!

NaNoWriMo was a success! I've finalized at 63K and my novel is finished! I'm relieved and happy to know that I accomplished what I set out to do!

Congratulations on your article! Going to check it out now!

Yay I was one of your first commentors! That like NEVER happens!

    Happy Monday!

  3. My weekend...I finished one of my Christmas present scarves. Yeah! It's November, and I only have one Christmas present left to finish. This is a record for me.

I am not participating in NaNoWriMo, though I wish all who are luck. (I can't just sit and get 50,000 words done like that. It's just not in me.)

For us, it's a Thanksgiving week (yeah!). The whole week off. Nice!

  6. good article on blogher. i suppose though that's how life is, something is new, it has your interest and then the busy reality hits back hard and one has to compromise in every corner. i'm new to blogging, just haven't got the time to read and comment on everything i'd like to read and comment on, but i do my little thing and hope people just enjoy my site !

enjoy thanksgiving ... no such thing here, well at least not yet :-)

  8. Family time is always a good way to spend the weekend. I spent most of mine working on NaNo and progress reports for school. :)

  9. Hey! Check you out--you're famous! ;p

I would LOVE to go to Maine. I've dreamed of visiting that state ever since one of my mom's friends showed me all these pix of her time there. I was like 7... ! One day~ :o)

  10. Hello Theresa! I've read your articles and love them! I love Break or Break Up.

  11. Congrats again on the article! I really enjoyed reading it! =)

I'm with ya on the Thanksgiving thing. I need some time off.

  12. It's always great to visit family. Nano's going much better now that I'm healthy. I was sick for some of last week, but the words are starting to flow so I should be caught up in a day or so.

  13. Hi Theresa, 'bitter with a threat of rain', sounds like a character description. Congrats on the article, thats great news.

  14. Congrats on the article. I'm heading over now. I wrote some over the weekend. But I need to write more. Going horseback riding this weekend. Me and the hubby will ride to of our horses. So I have to get caught up on writing this week.

Gotta have the Thanksgiving break from home-school. But I definitely WON'T be going to any Black Friday sales. UGH

    I bet Maine is beautiful.

  15. Headed over to check out your article! Glad you had a good trip to Maine.

  16. So glad you got to spend some quality time with your family. New England is very rainy and gloomy lately, isn't it? Typical fall/onset of winter weather. Hope you are well!

  17. Congratulations!

    My writing's going well, thanks!

  18. @ Shannon, I hope you get to recharge on Veteran's Day.

@ Jen, I'm so happy for you! Good luck with editing.

Giving me some sidebar love has definitely made you a quicker commenter. Thanks!

@ Liz, I'm so impressed you only have one more scarf to go. The pieces on your blog have been really nice.

I couldn't deal with NaNoWriMo either. I can write fast, but I don't want to write that fast.

    A whole week off?! Lucky!

@ Old Kitty, I can never remember mine either. I sign in with my Facebook account. Otherwise I'd have to e-mail them too.

NaNoers are blogging more than I thought they would. Procrastinating?

@ Kelly, November is a busy month. They should make it February. Though fewer days would make it tougher.

  19. @ Iris, none of us have enough time to blog, I think.

Do you have any holidays coming up?

@ Paul C, thanks. I think BlogHer is a cool organization.

@ Jemi, NaNo and Progress Reports? That's impressive!

@ LTM, so far I'm staying grounded with all this fame!

I hope you get to visit Maine. It's beautiful. But I recommend going between May and October. Maybe June and September, just to be on the safe side.

@ Len, we've had rain for days too. Let's hope it breaks up for both of us soon.

I'm glad you liked the post.

    @ Shannon, thank you.

That time off can't come soon enough!

@ Nicole, I'm glad you're getting better and that you're on track for NaNo.

@ Brigid, I do like "bitter with a threat of rain". Maybe I'll use it in fiction.

  20. @ Robyn, how nice you got to ride horses. I hope you have a prolific week.

I avoid the Friday sales too.

    @ Talli, thank you.

@ Julie, I've never visited when it's been nice in the fall. I think Maine is worse than Massachusetts.

    Hope you're well too!

@ The Golden Eagle, thanks. I'm glad your writing is going well.

  21. I did catch that article when you posted on this blog. It was a good one!

I know it's probably too cold up where you are, but part of me misses the North this time of year. We've been relishing some cool weather in Florida, but it's just not the same.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Congrats on your article!! Going to read it now....Nothing much exciting going on except work, sleep , clean and write...over and over :)

  23. I saw your article on Blogher in their facebook feed and after I read it and saw your author name I said "I know her!"..lol..as you comment on Old Kitty's blog, just as I do. There are so many different genres of blogs and I think I fell into in a "show me your new dish" loop more than a writer's loop, although my blog is mainly about places I visit in NYC, as I live there, and my other frequent travels.

Anyway congrats on being published on Blogher!

  24. Congratulations on your article! Off to read it now... I like having Canadian Thanksgiving in October but when November rolls around and you guys all start talking about the long weekend, it makes me wish I was having one too [g]

  25. This past weekend was all about kid's soccer. But it was beautiful weather for it, so I can't complain!

Great article, too. I definitely think sometimes I need to slow down with the blogging to get more writing time. The trick is to come back after the break!

  26. Congrats on your article, I shall pop over poste haste! ;)

And I love spending time with family, always great for recharging and also just to getaway from the PC-netbook- et al. ;) Happy writing! xx

  27. I am SO ready for Thanksgiving break, you have no idea! Or maybe you do. How is work going for you?

Congrats on having an article published on BlogHer!

  28. The weekend in Maine sounds lovely, despite the cold and threatening rain. Hooray for the Thanksgiving break ahead!

  29. Theresa - NaNoSuckMo is moving a little slowly right now. At about 16,000. Will be changing that soon. Glad you had fun with fam! =D

  30. @ Kelly, I don't like hot summers or cold winters. If I were in Florida, I'd miss the change of the seasons. I guess it's San Francisco for me without the earthquakes.

    Work/sleep/clean/write - repeat as needed. I think we're in a similar loop!

@ Pat, I like your blog. I checked it out through your comments on Old Kitty's blog (like you did with me). I remember you having one on a Brooklyn arsenal I thought my son would like.

    Glad you stopped by!

@ Deniz, I'm glad ours is in November. We need the break now. Besides, there won't be another until Christmas.

@ Susan, soccer in good weather isn't bad. My daughter gave it up this year, so no more outdoor sports for us.

I think I may have written the original post during your break.

    @ Talei, thanks for visiting.

I like spending time with family too. We get more opportunities to see people in the summer, and I miss everyone most of the rest of the year.

@ Shelley Sly, I'm finding my way. I'm going to write a post about the stages of grief, er... teaching.

@ Roxy, just a couple of weeks away. Hooray!

@ RaShelle, sorry you're not happy with your progress. I think 16k is awesome. You're pretty much on track for 50k. Good luck!

  31. Personally, I hope blogger is around for years. I, too, posted every day and it really cut into the rest of my life. I'm liking the new schedule I have and I hope I don't lose anyone. Even though it takes about six hours on Saturdays to catch up, it's better than spending three or four each day! Now, I am excited about writing, not scrounging for time and too tired to bother.

I'm glad you're still around; I'm here, too. I'm gonna need support when I'm in, to quote you, revision hell =P

  32. @ The Words Crafter, that's a lot of time to devote. I've never logged my time. I squeeze it when I can and make sure it's not taking time from the other things I need to do. Mostly.

Do what you can. If you're going to lose a blogger or two, don't worry.

Hope you're not in revision hell too long.
