Monday Menagerie

“A chain is no stronger than its weakest link, and life is after all a chain.
- William James

I have some links to share:

Lydia Kang is awesome. If you don’t follow her, fix it NOW. She’s invaluable source for writers with her “Medical Mondays” posts.
Last summer, I had questions related to my protagonist losing her eye. I e-mailed her. Not only did she reply quickly, but thoroughly. That post is HERE.
This Saturday, I’ve bothered her again with a question that may or may not be related to the same WIP. She responded to my e-mail to tell me she’d do research and would post it on MONDAY – today! Two-day turnaround. How cool is that?

If you’d like to see my newest question
and her response, PLEASE CLICK THIS LINK.

The 100 Stories for Queensland anthology release date will not be March 8th. When the new date is announced, I’ll post it on my blog.

Tomorrow, I’ve been interviewed on the J.C. Martin, Fighter Writer blog. She’s a cool chick. Be sure to come back tomorrow to read the interview and follow her blog.

Anne Gallagher of the Piedmont Writer blog posted an essential link for writers called "The Ten Mistakes " -Ten Mistakes Writers Don’t See (But Can Easily Fix When They Do). Read it!

Any links you want to share?

  6. Lydia is awesome and I had the pleasure of having her explain to me the difference between a coma and the catatonic state. She is SUCH a valueable resource and I'm glad she was able to answer your newest question, which I saw and loved.

  11. @ Melissa, with 727 followers, I guess a lot of people love Medical Mondays!

@ Angela, thank you. I'm looking forward to the release date of the anthology.

@ Anne, I think I remember that post. You have a great day too.

@ Jamie, thanks. I hope the release date is soon too.

@ Old Kitty, it's not my fault I need gruesome medical questions answered. Well, I am writing the manuscript, but it's more like I have to write what my mind tells me.

  12. @ Erica, I remember that Medical Monday question. I'm sure you do research like me, but when we're not in the field, we can't always find info explained in ways that make sense to us lay people.

@ Bossy Betty, thanks for the comments. Sorry you didn't get enough sleep. Hope you rest well tonight.

@ Jules, I'm sure you'll find Lydia's blog as valuable as I do.

@ Lydia, feeling the blog love? Thanks again, Lydia!

  16. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment at my spot in blogland.

The lack of sodium amazes many people but I have had this problem before. I eat little processed food and we rarely eat at restaurants, two places that are loaded with sodium. I drink gallons of water, too. I have taken potassium supplements for years due to the lack of that nutrient in my body. Guess sodium is right along the same lines. V-8 vegetable juice is a good source for sodium so I lived on that for a few days and got my levels back up. Feeling much better now.

  22. First I would like to thank you for becoming my latest follower.

Like everyone else I do have a few medical problems and though I am not ashamed of them I find my doctor whom I can look in the eye the person I can confide in.What I will say is I know everyone is scared of the word "The B ig C" my fear goes deeper. Having seen my late husband have it twice, the last time it claimed his life and then my eldest son was diagnosed four years ago, with luck he will make a complete recovery, I do think positive but the Big C is worse than anything I have to put up with,

Enough about my health problems I do appreciate your visit.
    Yvonne.

@ Slamdunk, glad you came by. Things are going okay. How about you?

@ Lisa, thanks for reading the interview. I'm looking forward to the anthology too.

@ Stina, glad you liked the post. The last time, she got back to me quickly. This time, she actually apologized because she'd need more research time. Her turnaround time is amazing!

@ Sharon, writer-doctor bloggers are invaluable!

@ Brigid, I'm glad you read the writing tips. Nobody else has commented on them. I'm going to read them even more thoroughly when I have some time.
