On Thursday, besides my very own shiny copy of Fangtales, this also arrived in the mail from Lesley University:
Dear Theresa,
Congratulations! It is my pleasure to accept you as a new student in the Moderate Disabilities leading to Initial License in grades 5-12 Master's degree program for the Spring 2012 Semester.
YaY!
Now I'd better pass this semester's class...
In Fangtales Tour related news:
Aubrie Dionne has posted press release up about Fangtales today. You'll learn more about the anthology.
In contest-related news, I've been remiss in announcing the winners:
Jess - Abandoned (signed!)
Medeia Sharif – Red Glove
Robyn Campbell - Bestest. Ramadan. Ever.
Sharon Mayhew - Where the Mountain Meets the Moon (signed!)
Congratulations, winners! Please e-mail me at tmilstein at gmail dot com and tell me your mailing address.
Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you the intestinal fortitude to stay the course!!
I am wending my way through my own extra degree program - it is difficult to balance all the things in life to do it. I know this is important for me (and for you) so - stay the course!
Congrats everyone - and for the record, my area does not celebrate columbus day as a "no work/school" holiday - so no 3-day weekend for me. :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats Theresa on getting accepted! How awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats to the winners.
Congratulations on this achievement. You've got some work cut out for you ahead, but you've got what it takes to make it. You're getting closer to your dreams!

@ Ricochet, glad to know another fellow school-work-life balancer. When/if I'm done, I'll have 96 graduate credits and two Master's degrees. Daunting.
ReplyDelete@ Christine, sorry you don't get the day off. My son and his friends were going to fast over Columbus's treatment of the American Indians. But he's fasting today for Yom Kippur, so that may be too much.
@ Natalie, thank you!
@ Arlee, thanks. So it doesn't seem overwhelming, I'm taking it one class (and one *gulp* test) at a time.
@ Joanne, I'll do my best. I can't get much lower. B+ and above for it to count, right?
@ Robyn, thanks. I was happy you won since you're one of my tour stops. Enjoy it! Love you too.
@ TerryLynnJohnson, it is a challenging course. It's making me a better teacher already. I should've done this sooner.
@ Miranda, thank you. It's been a great week: meeting Lois Lowry, having her comment on my blog, receiving Fangtales, and getting accepted to Lesley. My Special Ed. boss told me she's heard glowing things about me, so even better.
@ Lola, thank you!
@ Lori M. Lee, thanks. I appreciate it.
@ Misha, thank you! I'd better get to work soon.
@ Hilary, thank you. Yes, our controversial Columbus Day.
@ Brigid, I'm happy to be doing it too. I hope to get a Social Studies job, but I'll be better able to reach my students on IEPs.
@ Jemi, thank you. It's been a good week!
YAYAYAYAYYAY!! Your star continues to shine brighter and lovelier!! WELL DONE YOU!!
ReplyDeleteTake care

Lots of good stuff going on here, Theresa! Is there a 3 day weekend I'm missing out on? Columbus Day maybe?

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, congratulations, Theresa, on your acceptance as a new student! That is JUST wonderful. You must be very excited, if also a bit anxious, but I know you will love the challenge.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad things are going well for you. It couldn't happen to a better person :). I was curious, is there any reason Fangtales is not available as an ebook? I'm still going to buy a copy...just the decision to make it paper only seemed a little odd given today's publishing climate.
ReplyDeleteGood things are comin' your way, girl!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news about Fangtales and your admission into the program. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for Red Glove. I'll be in touch.
Enjoy your weekend.
