Today I'm playing band manager to celebrate the release of Kelly Polark's ABC's of rock 'n' roll picture book, ROCKABET: CLASSIC EDITION. If I could choose any band members from any bands to form the best band ever, these would be my rockin' picks:
Band Name: Interpol 2 (Because I love Interpol and needed to squeeze them in too)
First Gig: Bank of America Pavilion, Boston (It's on the water)
Lead vocals: Bono (U2) and Michael Stipe (REM)
Lead guitarist: Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins)
Bass guitarist: Sting (instrument is close enough)
Drums: Phil Selway (Radiohead)
Keyboards (optional): Will Butler (Arcade Fire) and Chris Martin (Coldplay)
Who would you choose for your supergroup and why?
Here's a band name generator to create your killer band name!
ROCKABET: CLASSIC EDITION can currently be purchased online at Amazon or at select bookstores. Hardcover books will be available at various online retailers and stores in October.
Kelly Polark is also the author of BIG SISTER, BABY BROTHER and the upcoming HOLD THE MUSTARD! from Meegenius. Come visit her on Facebook and Twitter! Check out her website and celebrity book recommendation site, Book Recs of the Rock and Famous.
READING ROCKS!
Thanks for visiting, Kelly. This was fun!
Congrats to Kelly! So excited for her. And love how she's combining her love of writing and music in her stories.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Kelly! I knew it was coming out soon.
ReplyDeleteI love your picks!!! What a great idea for Billy Corgan on lead guitar. I think of him more as a vocalist, but he is amazing on guitar! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting about Rockabet, Theresa!! :)
YAY! for Kelly! I hadn't heard. CONGRATULATIONS, Kelly-girl. Whoot! You really do rock. :)
ReplyDeleteHuzzah for Kelly. This is very exciting.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for Kelly and the release of her book!
ReplyDeleteMy fave from my band name generator is "Stand Cheddar"!!!! And we'll make cheesy songs! LOL!
ReplyDeletep.s am fessing up - I don't know who Interpol 1 are! LOL!
All the best to Kelly!! Take care
x
What a cool idea! And your choices are great (love me some U2!). I'm going to have to come up with my own band. Fun! Big congratulations to Kelly!!!
ReplyDeleteThat band name generator is fun. I can't pick a favorite. Hmmm. Valium Nugget. That's a good one.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words and support, everyone!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be an amazing band. Tickets for that would sell out in a heartbeat. I'd want Beyonce in a band, as well as Mariah Carey and Britney Spears. (You know I love pop music.) I think they'd come up with a really cool dance number too.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know who I'd put IN my band, but the name (according to the generator) is Proud Felony! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read this. I hope a Kindle edition is coming. Congrats to Kelly.
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa .. I agree what a cool idea - and a great read (even for someone who is so musicless!) - I even recognised one or two names .. I came up with Reversed Inspirational ...
ReplyDeleteFun generator ... cheers Hilary
Yup, that's a killer collection. Speaking of music, where did my Pandora go? ;)
ReplyDelete(Nice to meet you, Kelly!)
I love the sound of a rock n roll picture book. I haven't heard of ROCKABET before, so thanks so much for putting it on my radar. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the band name generator, and hearing what others come up with. Thanks, all! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kelly, and that is some line up for a band! - all those talented opinionated musicans, it would be some fun backstage :)
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa! Thanks for visiting my blog the other day and commenting with the Blitz Team. I was thrilled with all the positivity. And congrats to Kelly too!! Thanks again. Lily
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about this book.
ReplyDeleteOoh, great choices! I'd have to have Neil Hannon, and Whisky Trench Riders, in there as songwriters. Will have to think of the others...
