Need?

I was told I needed a Thneed.
They said a Thneed is what everyone needs.

I knew my things had become old.
Miss a trend, and I'd be left in the cold.

I sold all my most cherished stuff
To pay for the transformed truffula fluff.

I can’t afford to pay my bills.
Good thing this cozy Thneed keeps out the chills.

    1. Yvonne, it was a bizarre prompt. Since The Lorax was my favorite children's book and contributed to my care of the environment, it was an easy one to write.

    1. Other Mary, it's a little intimidating to copy the master. Nobody can do Seuss like he did.

    1. Old Kitty, if Seuss's character had called it a onesie, it never would've caught on. I'd LOVE buying Thneeds for kids.

  30. Hi Theresa .. I thought that must either be you ... or more likely one of your kids - and it's just the crazy thing we do on occasions - what an incredible photo ... love it ...

This is a post after your heart ... and exactly relative to this post .. http://frikosmusings.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/found.html

I'm sure you'll enjoy the words!! Cheers and I'm happy to think about this and smile away .. Hilary

That photo was a writing prompt. No, nobody in my family posted for that picture!

  31. Funny poem, and funny picture as well! I could use one of those Thneeds, especially because it's currently seventeen degrees in Chicago right now. We think it's a "warm" day if it's thirty degrees out.

    1. Neurotic Workaholic, seventeen degrees??? Yikes! We had an unusually freak warm day yesterday. It was in the 50s. It's not even that warm on my birthday at the end of March most years.

    1. Friko, Thneeds that act like invisibility cloaks would be worth the investment!

    1. Missed Periods, can you imagine what anyone would look like standing up? This can't be flattering even on a Victoria's Secret model. No wonder this person is curled up.
