Mulletfest!
So…there weren’t many K options…
Seriously, “Too Shy” is a good song. I still crank it on my iPod. Sure, they were a pretty much a one-hit wonder. They have a Duran Duran connection and had some modest successes. Read HERE.
Watch this video. The payoff is all that 80s hair and clothing.
Enjoy! (And find out if she overcomes her shyness.)
Honorable Mention: The Kinks
Oh yes, now you're talking! I definitely remember these guys and their hair. I think I remember having a mullet myself... (oh, the shame...)
ReplyDeleteOMG! LOLOLOL Noice one, mate. Recognize the Aussie mullet accent there? ;o)
ReplyDeleteMy brother had a mullet back then. haha
ReplyDeleteeek! Look at that promo picture! LOL. I'm listening to the clip now- everything about is definitely 80's. I can see this in some kind of soundtrack from the period.
ReplyDeleteNo!! NO!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI must admit to liking Limahl's Neverending Story theme song! But that's it!
Take care
x
I don't think I've ever heard that song. Time for a listen.
ReplyDeleteI danced many nights to their one-hit-wonder song.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't bad. But the mullets! Oh man! Oh man! Oh man! Sorry. I was staring at those things. Whoa. I say whoa! Eighties here.
ReplyDeleteI like the Kinks too. :-)
Throwing a dance party right now! Too bad I just got a haircut, or I would have asked for a mullet...
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Dear.
ReplyDeleteThat is just plain scary!
Bad mullets, HO!
Thanks for the laugh.
Heather
Oh boy, the styles back then! I just don't get it. Then again, maybe people in the future won't get our current styles. The 80s looked like a fun time, though.
ReplyDeleteI remember loving this, but as I watched the video all I could think of was 'what IS that top he's wearing?'. I got old somewhere along the way!
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you again! Thanks for your very kind comments on my blog the other day.

K should be for Kalamity. OK, it's not. But aren't we glad we survived all that bad hair?

Ha! And that used to be fashionable!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the Nick Rhodes connection.
ReplyDeleteHa! I actually remember this song! I even liked it. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the hair and the music! Thanks, Theresa.
ReplyDeleteI loved Kajagoogoo! I was one of the few that owned the album, I think.
ReplyDeleteDear Lord, look at that bad 80's hair!!
ReplyDeleteLOLOL band names are so great.
ReplyDeleteNow this song is looping through my head.
ReplyDeleteI never could like "Too Shy". I knew that Nick Rhodes produced it (that's what everyone told me and why they said I should like the song), but I just didn't. Now, if they'd had a second hit...
ReplyDeleteHehehe I'll be sing that all day!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of them or this song!
ReplyDeleteSonia Lal, A to Z challenge
All this hatin' on the hairs! Dudes, they were AWESOME to the MAX!!!!! (Lord, you should've seen MINE! At least *they* had stylists!) ;-)
ReplyDeleteSome Dark Romantic
Oh those mullet heads got me going! Still see the occasional one around, lol.
ReplyDeleteDenise
I can't believe hair like that existed, OMG!
ReplyDeleteNow that's some crazy hair. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWow, good for them in releasing something 20+ years later and having fans still clamoring for more.
ReplyDeleteHow have I not been stopping by here every day?!? Okay, when I get a bigger chunk of free time I'm, like, totally coming back to scroll through what I've missed. Too Shy was one of my favorites back in the day. Excellent K.
ReplyDeleteI completely forgot about this group, Theresa. Thanks for the flashback. I need to catch up on your last few posts. I was in Denver without internet since Monday.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I remember them!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I lurve that hair!! ;)
This song puts me in a good mood, and I always thought that was an interesting name for a band.
ReplyDeleteI think these guys were on The Young Ones once... You know, that weird funny British show from the 80s...
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to come in here and sound like a know-it-all, but Kajagoogoo was not on the Young Ones. And if you want to see bad hair-dos, come on over to the high school where I teach TODAY and see what we got. Kids today! Also, Kajagoogoo's album White Feathers is actually pretty good. One of their songs (an instrumental called "Kajagoogoo") even played over the credits of Sixteen Candles. You have to admit that was cool.
ReplyDeleteOh, and two more words for K: Killing Joke.
(Thanks, Theresa, for being brave enough to post this band as awesome in the first place. I don't often get to share, or admit, this kind of knowledge.)
You're right, Brent! It was Madness, and Dexy's Midnight Runners, and a pile of other bands. Oops!
ReplyDeleteThat's right. They even had Madness twice. Lucky!
DeleteI love the Young Ones. I watch through the complete series on DVD every few years.
I loved that one song by Madness.
DeleteHonestly, my heart skipped a beat when I saw K for Kajagoogoo. Boy, did I love the band. I can genuinly say that Limahl was the first "celebrity" I had crush on. Though, one hit wonders, they're still around, and Limahl still does good songs and is reasonably successfull in Europe. I like playing his news songs on my program.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have "too shy shy hush hush eye to eye" stuck in my head for the rest of the day now. :)
